A Heart Revealed…
I believe nature provides such powerful and profound metaphors for life… So, you might imagine how I felt when I saw this heart at the center of a fallen mesquite…
There it was — a heart revealed in the cross-section of a fallen mesquite tree. Not carved or constructed. Simply grown.
Nature whispers truth in the quietest, most ordinary places.
This hidden heart, layered in bark and time,
reminded me that we each carry our own stories —
etched in the rings and cracks,
shaped by growth and loss,
expansion and contraction,
abundance and drought.
Like the tree, we are shaped by time,
touched by experience,
and strengthened by love.
Growth doesn’t erase what came before —
it integrates it,
weaving all we’ve lived into who we’re becoming.
Just as the tree grew around its scars,
we too grow around ours —
expanding, adapting,
becoming more resilient.
At the core, what remains is love —
not fleeting, but enduring —
the pulse of life itself, holding it all:
the beauty, the pain, the imperfection.
Our inner landscape mirrors nature’s design.
The emotions, attitudes, and patterns we return to
shape the terrain of our nervous system —
creating familiar pathways
that feel comfortable, safe, and predictable,
even when they no longer serve our growth.
Yet, just as a tree can find new
ways to reach for light,
we too can cultivate new inner patterns —
states of balance, calm, and connection.
Practices that foster heart coherence help guide us there.
By bringing the mind, emotions, and heart into rhythmic harmony,
we teach the nervous system a new baseline —
one that feels steady, clear, and life-giving.
Over time, this coherence becomes our natural rhythm —
an inner homecoming to calm, clarity, and compassion.
An invitation to pause.
Bring awareness to your heart.
Breathe.
Listen inwardly.
Soften into compassion —
for yourself,
for others.
Honor your own rings of life —
the seasons of expansion and contraction,
joy and loss,
stillness and transformation.
And in that quiet space,
discover the love, wisdom,
and steady strength that rise from within.
This is where heart coherence begins —
in the simple act of pausing to listen,
to breathe, to realign with the steady rhythm of the heart.
Through heart-centered practices,
we learn to create and sustain
this inner harmony —
teaching the nervous system a new way of being
that supports emotional balance, clarity, and resilience.
It’s the work of coming home to ourselves,
again and again —
with gentleness, curiosity, and care.
