The Comfort Book by Matt Haig

I just started this book and love it already. I’ve read The Midnight Library, also by Matt Haig, and found it thought provoking and perspective shifting. Even before the Introduction, The Comfort Book begins with: “Do not think that the person who is trying to console you lives effortlessly among the simple, quiet words that sometimes make you feel better… But if it were any different he could never have found the words that he did.” - Rainier Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet

Isn’t this the treasure in our experiences? I believe that in this human life we go through difficult things to remember, to come home to ourselves, and to find the words to share with others to help them do the same. As Ram Dass said: “We’re all just walking each other home.”

The Light Between Us by Laura Lynne Jackson

The Light Between Us by Laura Lynne Jackson is a profound reminder that love doesn't end… it continues to move toward us, like light finding its way through. The connections we form here are not temporary; they are woven into something far more enduring than we can see. This is a book that touched something deep in me, and left me sitting with a beautiful question: if the love and the bonds we share truly transcend this life, how then shall we live? The answer, I think, is with more intention, more tenderness, and a little less fear… reaching toward one another while we can, and trusting that the reaching never really stops.

For Solitude by John O'Donohue | A Blessing, Reclaimed

I recognize in my life the presence, power, and light of my soul.

I realize that I am never alone, that my soul in its brightness and belonging connects me intimately with the rhythm of the universe.

I have respect for my own individuality and difference.

I realize that the shape of my soul is unique, that I have a special destiny here, that behind the facade of my life there is something beautiful and eternal happening.

I see myself with the same delight, pride, and expectation with which God sees me in every moment.
